Convoy S2+ 365nm Nichia UV Waterproof LED Flashlight

Keep this light away from children. Everyone present when this light is in use *must* use UV-blocking eye protection. This light emits a *lot* of UV light!

Now to the review:

1. This is a proper 365nm UV light, using a high-quality Nichia LED, and emits a lot of UV. Only a small fraction of the light is visible (as a deep violet), but don't be fooled. It's a lot more powerful than it seems.

2. It induces a lot of fluorescence in all manner of interesting objects. I've tested it with bank notes and assorted papers and plastics. It shows up anti-counterfeiting details very well. Many white objects glow bright blue, including ordinary paper. Some minerals fluoresce too.

3. The build quality is excellent and matches the usual high standard of a Convoy light. Some people worry about getting fake lights from intermediary dealers, but this one appears to be the real thing. Apart from the UV LED and single-mode driver, this light is identical to a standard Convoy S2+ Black.

4. This light is excellent value.

Suggestion

My only con is that the light has no markings to warn the user that it's a UV light, so there's a risk that someone might pick it up and turn it on without eye protection because they thought it was a normal flashlight. It looks exactly like a standard Convoy S2+ Black.

I recommend attaching a keyring with a label reading "WARNING! UV LIGHT!" and storing the light without a battery when it's not in use.

Хороший фонарь в сочитании с качественным диодом, лучшее по соотношению цена-качество. Только один режим свечения. Высвечивает хорошо. Ночью на улице уверенные 10 метров. Возможность установить стекла Вудо. Приятно анодированный корпус.
не то чтобы минус, но осторожно с глазами.
Хороший фонарь в сочитании с качественным диодом. В меру дальнобойный с хорошо боковой засветкой, высвечивает хорошо. шнур в комплекте избавляет от нужды покупать что либо дополнительно. . Хорошая влагозащита.
Наверно цена без скидок, отсутвие магнита в торце, фактическое использование как налобник.

Отличный фонарь, настоящие 365 nm! Показывает всё то, что и должен показывать ультрафиолетовый фонарь с этой длиной волны. Качество на высоте, как и всегда у Convoy, корпус знакомый многим по Convoy S2+, это по сути он и есть, отличается только рабочим током (700 мА, максимальный рабочий применяемого диода) ну и, собственно, диодом, ради которого которого этот фонарь и покупался. Количество видимого света весьма невысоко - основное свечение идет в ультрафиолете - защитные элементы показывает даже в светлом месте и при засветке с большого растояния

Suggestion

Никаких недостатков пока не замечено. Было бы интересно видеть в комплекте, насадку-светофильтр со стеклом Вуда, но это не недостаток, а пожелание

This is the most powerful UV LED flashlight that I am aware of. I use it primarily on fluorescent mineral specimens. The long wave UV light causes certain rocks and minerals to fluoresce, that is give off visible light (usually in very beautiful colors) due to the energy from the flashlight. This flashlight is so powerful that the response of many fluorescent minerals can be viewed in normal indoor room light. Most other UV flashlights are so weak that the fluorescing minerals must be viewed in a darkened room. This flashlight is very well built and easy to use. It is very easy to carry due to it's small compact size. I love it.

Suggestion

This long wave UV flashlight has no faults. It is excellent as it is. If you want you can add a ZWB2 long wave filter to cut down some of the very small amount of visible light that is always generated by LEDs, even though the main output of this one is LW UV energy at 365nm.
