Штангенциркуль сделан из пластика,что поначалу напрягает.Привык пользоваться стальным,а с этим придёться обращаться нежно,как с женщиной.Батарейка уже вставлена-вытащил защитную ленту и можно спокойно работать.Сначала при измерении прыгал скачками,но после добавления пары капель силиконовой смазки-стал скользить плавно,как нож по маслу.За точность измерений ничего не могу сказать,но,по моему,измеряет точно.Измерил толщину боа.
Suggestion
Старый штангенциркуль (стальной,с ризками) показал чуть меньше 3 мм,а этот-2,9 мм.Так-что меня всё устраивает.Для домашнего использования самое-то.Рекомендую и продавца и его товар.

this electronic digital LCD vernier caliper is a very low cost instrument, (I paid it less than 4 euros, in a special discount sales). The reading of the LCD display is not difficult: the digit are big enough also for who, like me, usually needs glasses for precise measurents. The accuracy of this caliper is not comparable with a precision stainless steel vernier, but for home uses.
Suggestion
it has plastic (Made of carbon fiber) elements, so the user must take this in count when use it against metallic sharp bodies. Also, the accuracy and precision are relative, do not take the last digit reading as a true value but consider it as a useful help, an improvement at the use of a ruler to measure fine details.

The caliper is so accurate and precise.
Even it records movement while LCD is switched off, so if you are at 10mm and switch off the caliper then move 15mm more, switching it ON will show you 25mm.... which is very correct. Don't assume it will do the same even after removing battery, its not possible.
The LCD is big and bright enough to read number.
The complete caliper is made of plastic don't get confused with those shiny aluminium finishing, its all plastic, Specification here says carbon fiber but I dont think so. It is not so durable, you have to use it carefully.

Not really, it does what descriptions says but I found the battery cover little slippy.

For those like me who only need a caliper occasionally this seems to be the perfect tool - cheap and it works.

It is very easy to use, just move the slide and it turns on and push one button to zero it. Zero it anywhere on the scale and get a direct readout of any difference between two measurements. I have played with it several times and it has always returned to 0.

I would not expect this to hold up to heavy duty every day usage but for me it is perfect.

Most can read both metric and inches
More accurate than vernier
Easier to read than vernier
Many are available with data output and other useful functions
Able to set zero at any point
Like all electronics reliability and resistance to adverse environmental conditions is constantly improving

Suggestion

Battery life in cheaper types is usually limited
If non functioning (and changing battery doesn't help) then can be almost impossible to fix

I bought these to mainly measure watches and other small things - to allow me to measure up for straps and suchlike. I have used the other metal ones from here and I was a fan of those, but these were significantly cheaper, so I decided to go for these.

I wasn't disappointed. It says that they are made of carbon fibre. I don't know if that is true or not, but the black 'fibre' part is very stiff and doesn't feel like plastic. It works very well, regardless and it have provided me with the accurate readings that I need!

Suggestion

None at all at this price. These are pretty good. The 'slop' in the measurement is reasonable, but not obviously of professional quality.
