My home is very old and the existing wiring in the walls was defective (replaced switches, etc). Rather than cutting into the walls to repair the wiring I used a plug in lamp with this switch combination. Including capping the existing wiring for safety and installing this system, the entire project was completed in a couple of hours. Cannot be opened accidentally or otherwise! When we return we switch on the power, from outside, using one of the two remotes we took with us and then use our normal remote to open the door. At nights when we re all going to asleep, we simply switch of the power with the press of the button on the remote. Switch on in the morning. Perfectly simple , fool proof and inexpensive.

Got this to install in my living room due to our ceiling fan not having and actual wall switch. So far it works flawlessly.

Much cheaper than moving or adding a power line. Works great up to now. We'll see about durability.

Works same as a wired switch. Make sure box is deep enough to fit it
